Falcom is known for Ys and Legend of Heroes series, two diametrically opposite JRPG series that have earned plenty of accolade.
And for the first time, the japanese version of Legend of Nayuta is ported over from the original PSP to modern consoles with English voice and narration.
As a remaster of the 2012 PSP title, the game focuses on the protagonist Nayuta, as his studies of mysterious ruins around his town lead him to an alternate world.
It was later remastered for PS4 and PC in 2021 and now finally for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation with full English support.
The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails bears resemblance to the Ys action RPG with plenty of platforming and treasure hunting then to the legend of heroes series which are traditional turn-based RPGs.
Despite its straightforward approach and characterization, this is a solid title with some fun action platforming sections, season based mechanics for more challenges and some stellar remastered visuals.
Extensive characterisation, compelling saga and stellar boss designs.
However, the game does not have any bearing with the Trails or Ys series.
